Yeah! I have a MySpace page and personally manage it! Find me at http://myspace.com/emmyrossum

Hey Emmy! I know you have a Myspace and now this official site but do you have any other official sites us fans could know about? I assume all of the people online claiming to be "Emmy Rossum" is not you!!

My official site is EmmyRossum.com.

you might want to know right here on Geffen.com/emmyrossum.

A Where's Emmy Question! Are your vacation pictures from Psarou Beach, Myconos Island, Greece?

Yes, I was on Psarou Beach in Myconos. It was so nice to have had a little rest before the album release Tuesday, October 23rd!

Does Emmy Rossum herself read and answer these questions?

yes, that's me!

Is there anything that creeps you up or your afraid of?

I don't have any real phobias, but I don't like tarantulas much and we see them sometimes in Los Angeles in the hills! I understand that they aren't dangerous to humans and part of the ecological balance of things and I would never hurt them but when you see them walking along the side of the pool or through the garden, they are startling.... I suppose when I get a bit more used to them I will be able to appreciate their diversity and beauty.

Hey Emmy, First of congrats with the Album, can't wait until it comes out. the 1st Q, i want to know what the vibe was on the set of POTO, and what beside the goodlooks did you like about Gerry and Patrick (bytheway your voice was and still is unbelieveable), the 2nd Q how do u feel about your album are you proud, did u write all the songs how much inut did you have in making it. 3rd what do you think people will say about another actress trying to make it in the singing industry?

It was a long 6 month shoot, vocally and physically exhausting, with corsets and stunts and lots of water. Gerry, Patrick and I spent a lot of time together and we became a very close family. The guys were a wonderful support team for me as I was very young on the job and I was lucky to have two of the greatest and kindest guys in the world to work with. Gerry and I shared a real love of music and we often got together to talk about the work and cooked dinner together. Patrick and I watched football and went to many long lunches during rehearsals where we got to know one another. Gerry is very funny and during our long shooting hours he could always make me laugh. Patrick is a real "guys guy" and I love that about him. I think you can tell from the film that I was completely comfortable with both of them.
I am very proud of the album and hope people like it. I signed with Geffen because they gave me creative license to find my own sound and take the time to do so. Ron Fair didn't push me to release a record just because there was heat off "Phantom." He didn't ask me to sing "like Christine." He just wanted me to find my own "lane"in music where I could live and sing and love my own music. He encouraged me to trust my heart and find my own inner voice. That that kind of support is so rare that I decided to return it in kind and devote myself soley to music for awhile (take time off my film career) to write and experiment. I wrote all the songs of the album collaborating with Stuart Brawley, Vince Pizzinga, and Bridget Benante... I
had input in all apects of the album, the writing, the mixing, the artwork, the video.
Most people don't know that I was trained and started singing professionally (at the Metropolitan Opera) when I was seven years old and have always considered music my life. I segued into film when I was eleven or twelve years old because I was growing too tall to sing the children's parts at the opera and wanted to continue to perform. This record is the most personal project I've ever worked on. Writing the lyrics and collaborating every day with my producer Stuart Brawley was a journey of self-discovery, both about myself and about my voice. It was extremely exciting and liberating to be able to write my own lines and express what is in my heart as honestly as I can.

Judging by the success of your demo on iTunes your album will no doubt do well and you have already had success in acting. Are you currently or will you ever be singing and acting at the same time or will you deliberately do one at a time?

Well, I love both singing and acting and will choose whether to do them separately or together depending on the project that comes up and the timing. "Phantom" was the perfect opportunity to combine two things i love doing most. I hope I'll beable to do another musical someday either in film or on the stage.

I know you get asked this a lot but, what do you use in your hair?

On days in the studio and in my downtime, I just let my hair go natural with a bit of gel or serum. For parties or events, I'll touch it up with a curling iron to tame the frizzies or if I want a smoother look I'll blow dry it first and then recurl it up with a curling iron.

Are you planning to make any more new movies soon? And if yes...what projects would you like to try out next?

Well. Its been difficult coordinating my music and film work recently. I was offered 2 films this year that I actually had to decline because of scheduling conflicts with the recording and I am currently "attached" to several very interesting films that are in preparation and preproduction. I hope to start a film(s) later this year or early next year and I'll let you know the details as soon as I am able to.

Hey Emmy, I want to say I'm a huge fan. You're one of the only young stars who I think is truly talented and actually worth respecting. With that said, I was wondering, you started acting very young. You did your schooling through the internet right? Well I have a few questions about that. Did you ever feel you were missing out on a regular childhood? and was it hard for you to stay focused and concentrate on doing your school work? Sorry that was so long. I love your work and good luck with everything!

Well, I'm not sure I missed out on a "normal" childhood, but I certainly didn't have a "conventional"childhood. Anyway my childhood is part of what makes me who I am. I left traditional school after fifth grade. I loved singing at the opera and I loved working on film sets and I got a very good education through home schooling. Growing up, I retained several friends from my elementary school days, made friends at the Opera and actually made friends in my internet classes some of whom I still communicate with and some of whom I have never physically met. I now have a lot of friends in all different "walks of life" and I feel very fortunate about that. I think I try to be a good friend to others. I don't think I would change my schooling or childhood. I think when you find your place in life or what direction you want to go that you have to follow your heart, even if that means you miss out in other ways. I "took the road less traveled by" and that has really made "all the difference". (Robert Frost).

Hey, Emmy!!! Are you planning a tour any time soon? If so, could you stop in Green Bay, WI. If you could, I'd be so happy. :]

I am gearing up and rehearsing to do live shows right now.... Stay tuned!

What would the average guy have to do to meet you?

Hmm... I like guys who are kind, funny, smart and honest... And someone who just likes to curl up and watch movies and hang out. And someone who is silly and likes to have fun.

Is your CD going to include any audiovisual material other than your songs?

The digital booklet which accompanies the digital album (released Tuesday, Oct 23) will include extra pictures and anecdotes about the songs. The documentary that was available with the EP will now be available on it's own.

Hey Emmy! Its Liam from Australia! Just wondering if you have ever been to Australia or plan to come to Australia any time soon?

I hear Australia is one of the most beautiful countries in the world but I've never been there! Maybe i can come play a show for you there! :)

Hi Emmy! I've heard people say you are a mezzo-soprano and others say you are a soprano. Which are you?

Hmm... Well I think I'm a soprano, but I also have darker mezzo tones... I don't think we'll know until I'm a little older...

Hi Emmy or whoever answers these questions. I was wondering If you could clear something up for me. I have heard several people say that you are Jewish. However, I have seen you wearing a cross in pictures from ROMEO AND JULIET and you have described Christine Daae as being "Christ-like". I was just wondering if you were Jewish or Christian or if you were religious at all. Please don't misunderstand and think I'm being prejudice. I'm just curious. Hope to not have offended you.

I dress in character for each role and that means assuming their identity. In the case of Romeo and Juliet, we envisioned Juliet as a Catholic school girl, hence the idea of the cross. I consider myself a spiritual person and I greatly respect all religions and beliefs that are for peace and love.

Do you believe in one true love, or the possibity of several different people meeting the requirements of a "soul mate"?

I believe in true love, but I believe there are many people with whom you could find love. I don't know if I believe in "soul mates" or the idea that fate has only made one person in the world who is your perfect match, but I do believe certain people just go well together and seem made for each other.

Hey, Emmy! Read any good books recently? What types of books do you like to read?

I like mysteries and poetry.

Will you consider being friends through MySpace?

yeah definitely! Just request me as a friend and I'll add you!

Do you personally pick out your outfits for events (such as movie premieres/fashion shows), or does a stylist give you pointers?

I've done both. But primarily, I choose and style my own outfits. I usually just go shopping for my own clothes. Sometimes, I go see fashion designers and pick "looks" I like and I buy directly. If I have a special occasion like an award ceremony or an unexpected event, I can call people at Dior, Badgley Mishka, Ralph Lauren, or Chanel and they are kind enough to design something for me or offer me a gown to borrow. They know my style and what suits me and I enjoy working directly with them and wearing beautifully made clothes. I know how lucky I am to have this support. Doing my own styling is a lot of footwork and very time consuming but it can be fun and it means that I wear what works best for me and what reflects who I am or how I feel. When I'm in a pinch or too busy to look for my own clothes, I'll ask a stylist friend to help me out. But I always choose what I wear and how its put together as I have my own aesthetic which I think of a clean, classic and feminine.

I know you have a lot of different musical tastes, as do I, but want to ask you a quick question if you do not mind! What are your thoughts on the singing ability of Axl Rose, frontman for Guns N' Roses? You know obviously a lot more about the talents of somebody's voice, so I was wondering your opinion. To me, he has the best male voice in rock music in American history.

Well, G&R is a little hard for me, but I do think Axl is very talented and I can understand how you feel the way you do. On a side note, here's a funny story for you. I actually lived in his old apt for several months when I first spent time in Los Angeles ( I was about 15 years old.) I had his bathtub! Wow, if those walls could talk! :)

Hey, just wanna ask if u created the songs when you were already actually making the album or wrote them before you knew you were making the album?

I wrote the songs while I was making the album. Some of the lyrics are taken from journals I have been writing for years, some of the lyrics were written while working on the melodies.

Emmy I have been a fan for several years now and I would really like to see you live. Do you have any live performances comming up soon?

Good Morning America on October 25th if you live in NYC. Stay tuned! I do have things coming up and I'll keep you posted here on emmyrossum.com, on myspace.com/emmyrossum and on my official Geffen page.

The vocals for Slow Me Down are hauntingly beautiful. How long did it take for you to record all of the vocal tracks for the song?

It took about 3 days of singing as its over 100 tracks of only my voice. There is no synth or voice duplicating software used to create the sound. We did it entirely organically, using many vocal layers and harmonies to create the texture. It was important to me that the
"sound" we created be "real" and not computer generated and that it supported the story and feeling behind the lyrics - the rush and pace of the world and the need to find love.

If you were ever offered the chance to play the role of Christine DaaƩ as part of the Phantom stage musical would you take it? You were brilliant in the movie and it'd be cool to see you in the stage production one day!

Well, I've still never seen the stage production of Phantom. I'd love to do a musical stage production so I might consider it but there are so many musical parts that are wonderful that I think I would probably opt for something new that I hadn't done before in film. Then again, never say never.

What is your favorite thing to do to relax?

I think there are different ways to relax. I either do something peaceful like take a warm bubblebath or something that gets all my stress out, like kickboxing. Both make me happy. I have to admit I I feel better if I'm really busy!

Hey. =] I know you were in The Audrey Hepburn Story, I was just wondering what it was like to portray her in that. I am a big fan of you both.

It was an honor to play Audrey and an education for me as well. I was only 12 years old when I got the part and didn't know that much about European history. I did considerable research about Audrey's early life in Holland and about the resistance there and elsewhere during the occupation. I didn't study her movies or try to emulate her screen persona as I wanted to portray a real teenage girl who BECAME Audrey Hepburn, not a glamourized little version of her. She struggled a lot in her early life in very difficult circumstances and I tried to portray that with honesty and feeling. Audrey Hepburn was an extraordinary woman, her heart was so big and surely it was formed during those years of deprivation and struggle. Not only was she an amazing actress and fashion icon but she was devoted to improving the life of children worldwide and worked ceaselessly for children through UNICEF. Hers is a life to be emulated.

Is this really Emmy? Because that would be cool if it is! :)

yep! it's really me!

Will your album be released in the UK?

Yes! I hope to have it out early next year all through the world and tour for you and play live!
